How Many Clothes Do You Really Need?

We all have at least a jumper, pants, a pair of shoes, or a bag that you don’t want anymore. Now, that you’re thinking of that item in your head, we will help you on creatively taking them off to de-clutter your space. Let us know what you think!

Give away one item each day. Any item! Take it from Colleen Madsen at 365 Less Things – she gives away one item each day over the past several years, and she has experienced quite a transformation by simply reducing her stuff one day at a time.

Try the Oprah Winfrey Closet Hanger Experiment. The idea didn’t originate with Oprah but she was the one to help give it notoriety. Here’s how: identify wardrobe pieces to clear out, hang all your clothes with the hangers in the reverse direction. After you wear an item, return it to the closet with the hanger facing the correct direction. After six months, you’ll have a clear picture of which clothes you can easily discard. What do you think?

Take the 12-12 Challenge. A simple task of locating 12 items to throw away and 12 items to donate – it can be a really fun and exciting way to quickly organize 24 things in your house at a time.
